Leave No Trace - Outdoor Ethics to Live By

Take a moment to look at this beautiful scene. The wildflowers are dense and lush, there is no trash to be seen, and you can almost smell the warm pine trees. It is gorgeous isn't it? This is the way it should be.

The code of wilderness ethics is best summarized in Leave No Trace. The Leave No Trace Principles are a list of seven key concepts to guide our behavior and minimize our impact in shared wilderness spaces. These concepts are as follows:

  1. Plan Ahead & Prepare
  2. Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces
  3. Dispose of Waste Properly
  4. Leave What You Find
  5. Minimize Campfire Impacts
  6. Respect Wildlife
  7. Be Considerate of Other Visitors

These ethics guide everything we do at Cascade Mountain Adventures. We strive to educate each and every one of our clients on these important standards. We believe that this is vital to maintaining these shared treasures for generations to come.

We will be sharing a detailed view of each of these concepts in the months to come. We will be exploring the importance of each area of impact and best practices to abide by them. We look forward to sharing these thoughts with you.
